After eight years on the road, Wings-N-Fins has a permanent home. Dedrick Roseboro, the owner of the Wings-N-Fins food truck, opened Wing-N-Fins restaurant on June 1 at 4830 Old Rural Hall Road, in the former location of Dr Chops Soul Food Café. Roseboro started Wings-N-Fins in 2016, operating the truck March through November each year – and he continues to do that.
He weathered the pandemic in part by taking a job as operational manager at Cook’s Flea Market, and he still oversees the food-truck commissary and concessions at Cook’s. But the truck has continued to thrive. Roseboro said he wasn’t actively planning to open a restaurant.
“I wasn’t looking at the moment. But I was out at an event at WSSU one day and the owner of Dr Chops approached me, saying he had a space available and asking if I was interested,” he said. People are also reading.
