The Aegean Islands are vying with Antalya for the title of top Turkish vacation spot, thanks to Greece’s fast-track visa program, which was introduced in March 2024. Approximately 20,000 Turkish nationals visited the Greek islands over the recent Eid al-Fitr holiday, demonstrating the program’s effectiveness. Eid al-Fitr Travel Trends: According to Turkish authorities, out of the estimated 35 million domestic travelers expected for Eid al-Fitr, 5 million opt to stay in organized accommodations.

However, Rhodes in Greece offers a similar experience for £32,000, which includes both accommodation and travel. Island Hopping Made Easier: Ten Aegean islands are now accessible to Turkish tourists thanks to Greece’s expansion of its visa-on-arrival program last month, which added five more islands.
These newly added islands are: Visa on Arrival Boosts Tourism: Since April 2024, Turkish citizens can obtain a visa upon arrival for visits to Chios, Kos, Lesvos, Rhodes, and Samo.
