Daltonganj: Kalpana Murmu Soren, the newly elected JMM lawmaker from Gandey assembly segment, on Tuesday held a public meeting in Japla in Palamu’s Hussainabad to kickstart the party’s public outreach programme ahead of the state assembly elections later this year. Riding high on the spirited performance of the INDIA bloc in the state, which won four out of 14 seats, Kalpana attempted to strike a chord with the people by claiming that her husband and ex-CM Hemant Soren who is in jail in a land scam case, was their “own son”. “My husband was put behind bars in a false case to put a stop to the development work and welfare schemes which were being rolled out under his stewardship.
