Self-guided active travel has been booming in popularity, and not just because it’s cheaper—and it is much more affordable, even at the luxury level. There are a number of other reasons besides price why if you enjoy hiking or biking trips, you might want to consider going self-guided. But first a definition: Self-guided is not the same as DIY (Do It Yourself) and in this case does not mean just going it alone like a backpacking or bikepacking or camping trip.
