Sandwiches have long been a classic lunch staple, the go-to choice for when you want something quick and tasty. While you might think a sandwich can only be as boring as a ham and cheese, around the world, there are sandwich shops working hard to create unique and impressive sandwiches set to blow hungry customers' taste buds. The rankings, by Time Out, looked at the world's top 18 sandwiches featuring the likes of spots in Sydney, Australia, one in Paris in France and another in Miami in the USA.

But, there was only one London spot lucky enough to make the esteemed list, you can see the full list via Time Out here . Based in the Camberwell, Mondo Sondo is set in Grove House Tavern and serves a range of "teeth-slinging subs" with an "ever-changing menu of intense flavours and bold fillings." But, it was the Tainted Larb sandwich that got praise from Time Out, being named the 10th best sandwich in the world.

As shared by Time Out, The Tainted Larb is made up of a larger sub filled with "vegan soy mince, hydrated in a Northern Thai-style spicy curry paste" along with herbs, lime juice and finished with "a black bean mayonnaise and a pickled green bean salad." However, the special sandwich was replaced by Mondo Sondo with another vegan special, as they introduced the Nem with Ven, made of "Vietnamese spring roll w/ Symplicity mince, carrot & daikon pickle, Maggi mayo, red onion & herb salad, vegan nuoc cham, butter lettuce."
