Popstar Burger in downtown Hickory has appeared, from the outside, ready to open for months. Terrance Mungro, who is the owner of Limbertwig Café in Morganton and is planning to run Popstar, said staffing issues are a big reason the restaurant has not opened yet. NW does not have an opening date, Mungro said he plans to do some pop-up events in the area during July. Once the physical location opens, Mungro said the menu will feature single, double and triple burgers. Names for menu items will pay homage to pop culture and the music industry.
He said the restaurant plans to be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. The restaurant will have seating inside for around 25 people. The building also has a sliding window on the front that Mungro said will be leveraged to take advantage of and encourage to-go orders.
Mungro said Popstar Burger may have some items on its menu that can be found at Limbertwig Café. He said Limbertwig focuses on local and fresh ingredients. The café offers vegetarian options and Mungro said he is considering putting those on the menu at Popstar Burger for those who may want something besides a burger.
