Grime star Stormzy is famed for his stage name, yet he has a very unique real name too. The Vossi Bop hitmaker, 30, has been rapping since the age of 11 and released his first tracks on YouTube. His freestyle videos racked millions of viewers and he later officially released hit Shut Up.

It got to number eight on the UK singles chart before the release of his debut album Gang Signs & Prayer in 2017, which became the first grime album to reach number one. He has picked up plenty of awards over the years including Best Grime Act at the 2014 and 2015 MOBO Awards and British Album of the Year at the 2018 Brit Awards. Stormzy headlined Glastonbury in 2019, making him the first black British rapper to do so.

His childhood saw him grow up in Croydon, London to a Ghanaian mum and a taxi driver father. In a surprise to many fans, Stormzy has a very long real name - Michael Ebenezer Kwadjo Omari Owuo Jr. Today, Stormzy devastated fans as he announced his split from girlfriend Maya Jama .
