The nightclub owner was knocked unconscious by a stranger while enjoying a night out on the Spanish island as he reportedly tried to defend a female companion. Wayne, 62, who is the older brother of ex-footballer Gary Lineker, was seen arguing with a group of men, who appeared to have been harassing his female friend.

The incident took place in the early hours of the morning on Wednesday, 12 June, outside Eden Bar in San Antonio. The dad-of-four was knocked unconscious by one of the men following a tense interaction. It allegedly took him around five minutes to regain consciousness.

The incident led bystanders to fear Wayne had died on the pavement. A witness spoke to The Sun , saying it was "horrible" to see and the men "ran off" after attacking Wayne. The 18 year old student told the publication: "It was horrible - he looked like he could have been dead at one point.

Wayne just fell on the floor and the man and his friends ran off. He was completely unconscious. He wasn't really speaking much when he did eventually come back round.
