Watford appeared to troll their rivals Luton after their relegation from the Premier League was confirmed. The Hatters' fate was sealed as they lost 4-2 to Fulham on the final day of the season which sees them join Burnley and Sheffield United in the Championship. The final whistle at Kenilworth Road blew at 5:56pm, with Watford sharing a post on X at the exact same time.

Their post said: "A beautiful Sunday! Hope you’re enjoying some downtime, Hornets." While it can't be confirmed that the post was in reference to Luton's relegation, a look in the comments suggests that their post may have backfired. "Not at all classy," posted one fan account.

Another commented: "15th lads ...

in the Championship. Have some shame." Meanwhile, a third fan wrote: "Not sure we're in a position to enjoy others' failings.

Imagine GT (Graham Taylor) seeing this." While Luton were pitting their wits against some of the best clubs in world football, Watford struggled in the Championship having finished 15th at the end of the season. They were relegated from the Premier League in 2022, finishing 11th in their first season back in the Championship.

A beautiful Sunday! ☀️ Hope you’re enjoying some downtime, Hornets. 👋 With Luton back in the EFL next term, the rivalry between the two clubs may just kick up another notch..
