twitter.com/Yq8LWihvRx — MSNBC (@MSNBC) May 30, 2024 With today’s verdicts, Trump becomes the first former U.S.
President to be found guilty of a crime. The verdict follows nine hours and 44 minutes of deliberations, per MSNBC. Inside the courtroom as the verdicts were read, Trump sat motionless between his attorneys, Todd Blanche and Emil Bove.
Blanche asked for all of the jurors to be polled, and they all affirmed their guilty verdicts. The judge, Juan Merchan, then rejected Blanche’s motion to set aside the verdict. The verdicts, in the only one of four criminal cases against Trump to go to trial to date, could have far-reaching effects on his bid to recapture the White House in November.
