North Shore Community College’s 58th commencement ceremony saw nearly 700 students with diverse areas of study receive their degrees after years of hard work. “The morning ceremony will award degrees in health professions and liberal studies. That means across this stage will walk your next nurse, therapist, environmental scientist, or award-winning videographer.
This afternoon will award degrees in STEM, Business and Human Services, meaning that stage will welcome your future teachers, firefighters, computer scientists and entrepreneurs,” NSCC President William Heineman said. “That’s the beauty of higher education. and in particular, that’s the beauty of community colleges.
You can choose to become whoever you want to be, and everyone in our community will be affected and benefit from your work,” Heineman said. The morning ceremony at the college’s Lynn campus included a keynote address from U.S.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who began by reflecting on the work still needing to be done to make public education more equitable and attainable for all. “Today is the 70th anniversary of the historic Brown v.
