The Suva Orchid and Horticultural Circle was invited by the British High Commission to create floral arrangements for the residence of the British High Commissioner in Suva yesterday, in honor of His Majesty King Charles III’s birthday in 2024. With a keen interest in the natural world and conservation, His Majesty King Charles III has assumed the role of patron for the Royal Horticultural Society of the United Kingdom. Three weeks ago, he went to the Chelsea Flower Show.

Yesterday, the British High Commission hosted a modeled flower exhibition that was visited by First Lady Madam Vilomena Katonivere. Akosita Raicebe, President of the Suva Orchid and Horticultural Circle, stated that this year’s King’s Birthday Party will feature floral arrangements from the organization. This is the first time the Circle and the High Commission have collaborated on a project of this magnitude.

“We know His Majesty The King takes a great interest in both the beauty of the natural world and the beauty of Fiji, and Fiji has some of the most beautiful flora in the world.” “We hope that this evening’s arrangements will foster an appreciation for and commitment to preserve Fiji’s magnificent flowers and plants.”.
