The University of Bolton has extended its reach across the country by opening its new centre to train nurses and midwives. The Nursing and Midwifery Centre was officially opened in Bradford earlier this week. Mayor and Mayoress of Bolton Cllr Andy Morgan and Karen Holdsworth travelled across the Pennines to Yorkshire to mark the opening of the new centre.

Cllr Morgan said: “This new centre marks a significant milestone in the university’s commitment to advancing healthcare education and addressing the growing need for skilled healthcare professionals in all our communities. “The establishment of this satellite centre reflects the University of Bolton's dedication to providing accessible, high-quality education and training for aspiring nurses and midwives. ” The new centre has been opened at the Lister Mill site, which has been a dominant feature of the Bradford skyline since 1873. It includes a dedicated teaching centre for students with three simulation suites, each of which has been named after key figures at the centre.
