Black_Kira UnitedHealth Group ( NYSE: UNH ) unit Change Healthcare, which was hit by a massive cyberattack in February, will begin to notify customers whose information may have been compromised in late July. Change said it is currently conducting a data review to determine customers, including health insurers and healthcare providers, whose members' and patients' personal information may have been stolen. The company noted that some individuals whose data was involved in the incident have already been identified.

They will begin to receive notifications starting today. Change added that the information taken in the cyberattack could include personal information such as people's names and addresses, as well as health insurance details, such as ID numbers, test results, diagnoses, and treatments, and billing information, including banking information and payment card numbers. Social security numbers, driver's license numbers, or passport numbers may also have been taken.

In May, UnitedHealth ( UNH ) CEO Andrew Witty confirmed reports that the company paid a $22M ransom to regain access to Change's IT system.
