Thursday, June 20, 2024 This year celebrates the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia, alongside the designation as the Year of China-Malaysia Friendship. The kickoff of the second quarter saw the commencement of the “Lanting Chinese Calligraphy Culture Salon” and the “Unique Landscape in Jiangxi” Southeast Asia Cultural and Tourism Promotion Season at the China Cultural Center in Kuala Lumpur. This event also included the Malaysia “Jiangxi Day” celebrations.

The event showcased the extensive cultural and tourism offerings from Jiangxi, such as its renowned calligraphy, ceramics, and various tourism products, in Kuala Lumpur. It highlighted Jiangxi’s cultural wealth and tourism appeal, acting as a vivid display of the growing cultural interactions and reciprocal enlightenment between the regions. Through culture and tourism, the unique allure of Jiangxi was introduced to the Malaysian audience, enhancing understanding and engagement between the peoples of both locales.

Organized annually by China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the “Lanting Chinese Calligraphy Culture Salon” and the “The Rise of Jiangxi Culture” Contemporary Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition featured artworks from celebrated Jiangxi artists. These artists used distinctive styles and techniques to represent Jiangxi’s landscapes and traditions, thereby sharing the area’s rich cultural heritage and deep-rooted values.
