A STATIC caravan is tipped to sell for a bumper £1.5million, making it the "most expensive" in British history - and it comes with a catch. Holiday home hunters keen on the beachside abode in Christchurch, Dorset won't be able to live in it year-round.
This is because the caravan park it's located in - Sandhills Holiday Park - closes for owners in February. The harbour home offers sea views over Christchurch Harbour and contains three bedrooms, two bathrooms, an open-plan kitchen -living area and sky deck . But the new resident will need somewhere else to live from January 31 until March 1.
Despite its location, the caravan's price has caused a stir. On a Reddit thread , one user said it was a "very nice static caravan", before sarcastically correcting themselves and changing it to "park home". Another user said: "I cannot fathom how anyone would pay such a premium price for the most basic of comfort.
" A third added: "If I have £1.5m as a pocket change, I wouldn't buy a glorified beach hut." A fourth quipped: "That's astounding pricing.
And not in a good way." But defended the eye-popping price, some suggesting the property was "great for Airbnb". Another user added: "There are places you can buy a beach hut for £400,000.
