Tuesday, June 4, 2024 Governor Tina Kotek has appointed a new member to the Oregon Tourism Commission (dba Travel Oregon). Jenifer Roe, owner and operator of Roe Outfitters and Crater Lake Zipline, joined the commission on June 1. Jenifer earned her degree in international relations from UC Davis before returning to her hometown in the Klamath Basin to focus on tourism marketing.

Working alongside her husband and two adult children, she continues her family’s legacy. With nearly 30 years of experience in the tourism industry, Jenifer brings extensive knowledge and a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in rural Oregon.

Her commitment to promoting Oregon’s natural beauty and cultural heritage drives her passion for sustainable tourism that supports local economies and enhances community livability. Jenifer is actively involved in her community through various volunteer roles. She serves as chair of the Discover Klamath Visitor and Convention Bureau, is a board member of Travel Southern Oregon, and is a member of the resource advisory committee for the Fremont-Winema National Forest.

Jenifer will replace Commissioner Maria Ponzie, who served nearly two terms on the commission. Travel Oregon extends its gratitude to Maria for her service and dedication to Oregon’s tourism industry..
