The Michelin-star chef set the price of his fish finger sandwich at £18 in the Knightsbridge department store restaurant Kerridge's Fish and Chips in September last year. Now, the TV chef's signature sandwich is being sold with a side such as chips, hardcore slaw, minted peas or broccoli at a cost of £27 and is no longer advertised on its own on the menu.

The addition of a side softens blow of the expensive new price, because they usually cost £8.50 or £9.50 on their own - so diners can actually save 50p depending on which one they choose.

But some customers may be unhappy because they can no longer buy the sandwich on its own for £18.
