Under Canada’s “Strong, Secure, Engaged” defence policy, the Canadian Armed Forces have 71,500 active and 30,000 reserve personnel with a further sub-component of 5,200 ranger patrol group. There are presently 1,000 in Latvia, with a promise of 1,200 more to be deployed in the future (no date yet).
