Since 2019, Greater Rochester has offered a program seeking community integration and long-term retention.
Remote workers can qualify for up to $19,000 in grants if they move to the area. This includes $10,000 for relocation and up to $9,000 in homebuyer incentives. To qualify, applicants must be able to move within six months of being accepted.
The program has drawn attention nationwide , receiving more than 3,000 applications from all 50 states. At the time of writing, 32 remote workers have relocated to the region, bringing 71 total jobs . Greater Rochester is often touted as the ideal family destination packed with activities to do as a group.
