A TikTok sensation who jetted off to Tenerife to join the hunt for missing Jay Slater has revealed he's packing his bags for Blighty. Callum Fahim, who became a social media sleuth in the search, claims he's not seen a penny of the cash raised through a GoFundMe campaign and is set to return to the UK after a fortnight in Spain. Callum took the plunge and headed to Tenerife after a digital chinwag with Jay Slater's mum, Debbie Duncan.
As of Thursday eve (July 4), the GoFundMe pot for fam hit a whopping £49,507, smashing the initial £30k goal. Just yesterday, Debbie hopped onto the fundraising page to drop a massive thank you to all the generous souls out there and shared the plan to splash the cash on the rescue squads and volunteer heroes joining the search for Jay. Fahim said: "I haven't had anything from the GoFundMe. We have not had a bit of essentials paid for. "I've never had any money from them whatsoever or even offers to go and pick anything up.
If they had offered it, personally I would've said maybe a bit of a treat at the end of the week, but don't worry about it." The detective told Sky News he shelled out for his own ticket to Tenerife and after a 'long conversation' with Ms Duncan, he's decided to 'withdraw'. He added: "It's getting very out of control.
The situation here is very dangerous at the moment. I have had death threats. I had a long conversation with.
