TM: Cat Deeley says she struggles to juggle her kids and career This Morning star Cat Deeley told the world that she feels "guilt" about responding to work pressures while she's with her kids. The TV host, who recently returned to the UK after pursuing a showbiz career in California, is hugely in demand on TV. However, juggling everything means she's sometimes left feeling she's not paying as much attention to her sons, aged six and eight, as she might like.
Cat confided: "There's always that level of guilt where, if you're at work, [you wonder]: 'What am I missing out on with the boys?' "Then if I'm with the boys, 'Ooh, I need to answer this email really quickly' and I'm not doing a good job there." She added: "It sometimes feels like you're losing the battle." She brought up the tricky topic in a conversation with influencer and GMB panellist Ashley James, who argued that it's increasingly difficult for women to "have it all".
As the pair discussed the struggle, together with Ben Shephard and Nick Ferrari , Ashley admitted she'd like to have more help. She caused a stir last year by admitting that she finds motherhood monotonous and "boring" and was left struggling to source her "maternal instincts". The former DJ and world traveller opened up on Good Morning Britain , saying: "When I had my son, I found it really boring and everybody always said: 'Every moment is worth it', so I thought I was the devil.
