On Tuesday’s instalment of This Morning, hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard spoke to pop sensation Martin Fry. The 66-year-old, who fronted the band ABS, appeared on the ITV show to speak about his career. Although his appearance sparked a frenzy among people watching, with many complimenting the 80s icon.

” During Martin’s chat with the two presenters, Cat questioned what helped inspire his band’s overall look decades ago as she highlighted people wanted their own image. He said: “I always thought the British film industry had shrunk but there’s always these very charismatic characters if you went to a nightclub in the early 80s. So, when you look at Boy George , Annie Lennox or George Michael, these are stars.
” The 66-year-old highlighted that during his height of fame, everybody decided to delve into pop music. He revealed there were times he’d go on a plane to New York and it’d be full of British pop stars trying to conquer America. Martin added: “We had the 70s, where people had leather trousers and rock’n’roll.
We were the 80s, we were bringing everything into the bag from cinema to all those jumble sales we used to go to.” Confessing mo.
