Headlining a tour called Summer Gods wears well on Third Eye Blind. The San Francisco-formed, now Los Angeles based sits high in the ranks of rock ‘n’ roll of a certain age thanks to its self-titled 1997 debut album, which was certified six-times platinum and launched the Top 10 hits “Semi-Charmed Life,” “How’s It Going to Be” and “Jumper.” That insured the band — led by remaining founding members Stephan Jenkins and Brad Hargreaves — an elder statesman longevity that’s allowed it to bring younger bands on the road most summers.
This year Third Eye Blind, which has released six more albums — “Our Bande Apart” the most recent in 2021 — and been through a variety of members. But it’s still going, strong according to Hargreaves, as it takes the latest edition of Summer Gods, with Yellowcard and Arizona, around the country..
