Based on the famous 1939 movie "The Wizard of Oz" — which was based on the classic 1900 novel "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" by L. Frank Baum, the play follows Kansas girl Dorothy as she is flung over the rainbow by a tornado and lands in the Land of Oz, quite literally on top of a witch.
With a magic pair of ruby slippers, and help from a band of enchanting friends made up of the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion, Dorothy heads off on an adventure across Oz, following the Yellow Brick Road to the Emerald City. There she hopes to enlist the help of the Wizard, to send Dorothy back to Kansas. But, throughout her journey, Dorothy has to deal with the Wicked Witch of the West, who is trying to regain the ruby slippers off of Dorothy's feet.
Leading the cast for the Barn's production of the show is Ariana Frank as Dorothy Gale; Diego Chavez as the Scarecrow/Hunk; Matt Onnen as the Tinman/Hickory; and Zavore Hunt as the Lion/Zeke. Playing the roles of the witches are Gretchen.
