For the past seven years, she and her husband, Marc, have planted three plots of flowers and vegetables. They also take care of the exterior of the garden and do other maintenance in one of the numerous Lots to Gardens throughout the Twin Cities. “I’ve planted three types of tomatoes this year, but none of them are red,” Erika Gardner says.
“We try different things every year. Some grow well and some don’t. That’s part of the fun, but either way we have healthy, fresh veggies all summer.
