In what proved to be a demanding final episode, Noel carried out surgery on Odin, a Caucasian shepherd dog who suffers from a serious condition where malformed vertebrae are putting pressure on his spinal cord. Noel was frank in explaining the severity of Odin's case to the owner, stating it was "as bad as it gets.
" The show also shared the story of Monty, a small toy poodle who had to go through two surgeries after he was attacked by a larger dog. He required an intricate and delicate hip replacement operation - a task that only a limited number of vets could undertake due to Monty's tiny size. Adding to the tear-jerking narratives, Maya, a Malamute Husky cross, following her encounter with a train accident, successfully received a prosthetic limb and indeed beat the odds to live.
