Two North Wales beaches have made it onto a prestigious top 10 list of the best in Wales. Llanddwyn on Anglesey and Porth Iago in Gwynedd were named in The Times and Sunday Times Best UK Beaches guide. The 2024 guide showcases the unrivalled beauty of the UK seaside evaluated through a rigorous 11-point inspection checklist.
Criteria include water quality, cleanliness, accessibility, car-parking facilities, lifeguard presence, hygiene levels at toilets and showers, and dog-friendliness. It only features beaches which are rated as “excellent” for water quality by the national environment agencies. The guide also only covers mainland beaches.
