As part of the upcoming XDefiant Season 1 update, the game’s dev team is introducing a new Rainbow Six-themed faction called the GSK. Much like Ubisoft’s equally popular shooter, the new faction is equipped with skills that are highly useful for taking and defending objectives (just in time for the upcoming arrival of the Search and Destroy mode). However, one of its abilities that’s quickly gaining notoriety within the community is its ballistic helmet passive since it allows you to nullify headshots.

Like most FPSs, nailing headshots in the game is crucial. But it’s even more important in XDefiant because, as executive producer , “headshots are super powerful in this game” since they drastically reduce TTK. With the arrival of the new faction, though, that could all change.

Now, this at least gives players a way to counteract the , which many have complained about since the game’s launch. However, the GSK’s passive ability isn’t the only reason some players are already calling the latest faction overpowered.

Using the new characters also lets you equip a trophy system that renders enemy utility useless, allowing you to hold objectives much easier. Then, there.
