The 2024 Academy Awards are behind us, and with the Cannes Film Festival in full swing and Sydney Film Festival right around the corner, it’s time to turn our attention to the best movies of 2024. The beginning of the year saw the release of the last few Oscar contenders of 2024, with hot titles like Anatomy of a Fall , The Holdovers and May December hitting cinemas. Following award season, we got the belated release of titles like Dune: Part Two , Challengers and Force of Nature: The Dry 2 , all of which were pushed back by the 2023 Hollywood strikes.
