Jenna Coleman's drama The Jetty landed on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Monday, July 15, and fans of mystery thrillers have been sinking their teeth into the detective series. Written by Cat Jones, The Jetty follows Jenna's character Detective Ember Manning. Ember is tasked with linking a fire that devastates a property to a podcast journalist probing a missing person cold case, and an illicit relationship involving a man in his twenties and two underage girls.
The four-part drama unfolds in a picturesque Lancashire lake town, which is a character in its own right. Speaking about the importance of the location, Jenna said: "There's a really interesting visual theme across the series of reflections and mirrors, which reflects the fact that so much of Ember's journey is being forced to look inward. So much of the show is about water and echoes, memories and reflection.
The themes of the show are really echoed by the setting of the lake." Filming for The Jetty took place from Manchester to West Yorkshire, including the Yorkshire Moors. However, Littleborough was the key location, with Hollingworth Lake, located in Littleborough, Rochdale, taking centre stage.
