IF you fancy an outdoors swim even in this chilly weather, than you are in luck thanks to a heated lido which is open for the season. Arundel Lido is the only public lido in West Sussex. Having opened in April, the outdoor swimming pool is heated until September to around 28C.
Between September and March, it is unheated for cold water swimmers. Along with the main 25m pool, there is also a kid's pool and 5m splash pool. During the summer there are all kinds of activities such as water zorbing, inflatable courses and sports activities.
Along with picnic tables, there are also loungers and umbrellas along with changing areas and a cafe. And the views are just as impressive, with the medieval Arundel Castle right next to the pool. Tickets cost £5.
50 for kids or £8 for adults, with swimming lessons $£10.50pp. Previous guests have raved about the pool too.
One person said: "This is a fab little facility that is like an old fashioned outdoor lido. "It has a small and intimate feel rather than being a large commercial attraction." Another said: "The best lido for miles, beats an indoor pool hands down! Last month, it was also announced the pool would be given £90k for new pool cover and PV panels, as part of the government's £80 million Swimming Pool Support Fund.
