A Cheshire bar created inside a former solicitors' office has been named among the 'best looking pubs in the UK'. Alsager's Bod Café Bar was among three winners at The Campaign for Real Ale's (CAMRA) prestigious Pub Design Awards 2024. The bar, in a former solicitors' office on Crewe Road, claimed the Conversion to Pub Use Award at the ceremony at The Vines pub in Liverpool on June 19.
The category celebrates outstanding conversions of buildings originally built for other uses that have now been transformed into a pub. The Alsager bar is the newest of eight 'Bod' bars operated by Stoke-on-Trent-based Titanic Brewery, located predominatly across Staffordshire. The brewery, famed for its plum porter, converted the premises into a quirky new bar and café in 2022.

Judges also praised the new light and airy conservatory which they praised for supplying a ‘wow’ factor to the bar. The awards were held at The Vines pub on Lime Street, Liverpool.
