A UK beach has been named the cheapest for a holiday this summer in Europe. For the second consecutive year, travel experts from Omio have analysed 75 popular beach destinations in Europe to reveal the best value seaside retreats. Of the 75 beaches evaluated, eight were based in the UK, reports the Express .

The study considered factors such as Google ratings, average summer temperatures, and this year's retail prices and rental fees for essential beach items. If you are looking for somewhere a bit closer to home, Bournemouth Beach in Bournemouth was ranked in 61st position, Barmouth Beach (Traeth Bermo) in Eryri was ranked at 67th, Fistral Beach in Newquay was ranked at 69, Ayr Beach in Ayr, Scotland was at 72, and West Sands Beach in St Andrews, also in Scotland, was ranked at 74.
