Travel is a privilege. To complain about its trivial tribulations can be to blunder into the unedifying quicksand of “First World Problems”. Still, we’re only human, and who doesn’t like a good whinge, especially regarding their holidays? The travel industry consistently fails at some things that should be relatively easy to fix.

You only need to look at hotel, restaurant and airline reviews to see the same niggling complaints aired again and again. Here are ours. They may have you nodding in recognition, or leaping up in protest, so let’s call this list of pet hates a conversation starter.
