A teacher says joining in the 'world's biggest water fight' while on a Thai holiday left her hospitalised twice with a horror stomach bug - as people claim some yobs put 'urine' in the water guns. Sophie Spencer-Beeley had flown to Bangkok to take part in the three-day water fight to mark Thailand's New Year celebrations with her friends last month. But after joining in on Songkran, the country-wide water gun festival, the 25-year-old says she was hospitalised after contracting a 10-day bacterial stomach bug from the water.

Video footage shows the English teacher getting sprayed with water and caked in mud in a bid to 'cleanse' her and bring her good fortune for the year ahead. After watching the water fight footage back, Sophie believes to have captured the moment she caught the bug when someone blasted water directly into her mouth. Sophie claims she began to feel ill a few hours after taking part in the celebrations - waking up in the night with stomach cramps and hot sweats on April 13th.
