Sundae Cafe, 113 E. Herrick Ave. in downtown Wellington, has officially opened and offers a variety of flavors and combinations of ice cream.

The traditional ice cream shop, complete with indoor seating, features an array of flavors, unique sundaes with a combination of ingredients and blended milkshakes, according to co-owner Tiffany Warner, who works alongside her sister Darla Metz. Flavors of the ice cream, all of which are made by Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream Company , include Old Fashioned Vanilla, Chocolate, Coconut Almond Bliss, Ultimate Oreo and Cotton Candy Twist. Other options like Exhausted Parent, which is a blend of bourbon-spiked espresso ice cream with chocolate chunks, and Mint Avalanche, a mix of Andes mint chocolates, Grasshopper cookies and fudge sauce, are available as well as dairy free options.

“We wanted something different that you can’t buy in the grocery store, or a different ice cream a lot of people haven’t heard about,” Warner said. Ice cream is available by the scoop in a cup or customer’s choice of waffle or sugar cone. Warner said since celebrating a soft opening a month ago, Sundae Cafe has added a variety of sundaes, each made with a list of ingredients, and milkshakes, all of which have received a positive response from the community.

“We started with just scoops at first, and then we added the sundaes and then the shakes,” she said. “It’s just kind of been a progression. “It’s exciting because a lot of our customers have.
