STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Preparations are underway for The Staten Island Community Alliance (SICA) Annual Juneteenth Freedom Festival on Saturday, June 22, in partnership with Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden and in conjunction with dozens of Black-led national and local community organizations.

The event is free and will unfold at the South Meadow and in the Richmond County Savings Foundation Tuscan Garden at Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden, a proud Smithsonian affiliate organization, located on 1000 Richmond Terr., Livingston. “We are thrilled to host our fourth Annual Juneteenth Freedom Festival at Snug Harbor, the largest outdoor venue dedicated to showcasing our rich and abundant history and global culture,” said SICA president Dana Walker-Boyd.

“This festival is an opportunity to educate the community about the significance of Juneteenth. “I am honored to represent my native hometown in collaboration with our dynamic Board of Directors Nicole Meyers, Kim Avilez, Beth Coleman-Oliver & Michelle Swiney-McCombs, Community Partners, Non Profit organizations, and lead corporate sponsors: Community Health Action of Staten Island, Sun River Health, Con Edison & CHASE Bank.” The event will feature live performances, crafts, a food and artisan market and more.
