Following the tragic death of The Shining star Shelley Duvall, a host of celebrities paid tribute to the iconic star including Stephen King, Stanley Kubrick and Elvis' grand-daughter Riley Keough. Shelley was 75 at the time of her death and news of her passing was confirmed by her partner. The actress was best known for her performance starring opposite Jack Nicholson in Stanley Kubrick's The Shining.
It's believed she passed away due to complications from diabetes at her home in Texas on Thursday. Confirming the news, her partner Dan Gilroy said: "My dear, sweet, wonderful life partner and friend left us. Too much suffering lately, now she's free.
Fly away, beautiful Shelley." Just moments after it was announced, fans and close friends rushed to social media to pay their respects. Stephen King wrote on Twitter/X: "Very sorry Shelly Duvall has passed.
Wonderful, talented, underused actor." Elvis' grand-daughter Riley Keough simply wrote "legend", with pink heart emojis. Image: Getty Images) Getty Images) Accompanied by a picture of the late star smiling.
