Saturday, June 8, 2024 In a dramatic incident, Southwest Airlines Flight 225 was forced to make an emergency landing after a tire blew out during takeoff from Denver International Airport on Monday, June 3. The flight, which had just departed at 6:30 pm local time, was en route to Arizona when the mid-air scare unfolded. Shortly after takeoff, one of the plane’s tires burst, causing the flight to circle back and land at Denver International Airport.
The aircraft made the emergency landing just 41 minutes into the flight, according to data from FlightAware. Despite the frightening ordeal, all passengers and crew members were unharmed. In a statement released on Friday, June 7, Southwest Airlines confirmed the incident, stating, “Southwest Flight 225 returned safely to Denver on Monday, June 3, after a tire failed during takeoff.
Following standard safety procedures, the pilots declared an emergency prior to landing. The flight landed without incident and taxied off the runway. A separate aircraft operated the scheduled flight to Phoenix.
