Senior Ryan Lynch delivered a complete-game beauty to lead eight-seed Moorestown to a 4-0 victory over nine-seed Absegami during the first round of the NJSIAA South Jersey, Group 3 Tournament in Moorestown. Lynch fired a two-hitter and issued two walks and hit a batter with 10 strikeouts to lead Moorestown (12-9) into the quarterfinals of the sectional tournament. The senior also had a double and drove in three runs at the dish during the victory.

Chase Kroberger supplied the power for the Quakers with a solo home run in the contest. Michael Harless recorded 4 2/3 innings in his start on the mound for Absegami (12-9) and allowed one earned run on two hits and six walks with six strikeouts. Moorestown will play either Cherry Hill West or Lacey in the quarterfinals.

Delsea 8, Toms River South 1 Four-seed Delsea, the No. 7 ranked team in the NJ.com Top-20 rankings, rolled into the quarterfinals of the sectional tournament with its victory over 13-seed Toms River South in Franklinville.

Mike McGinley led the way at the dish for the Crusaders with two hits, three RBI and two runs scored during the victory. Tyler Schoppe and Ethan DuBois each drove in a run for Delsea and Austin Buchanan collected two hits in the first-round win. Frank Cairone tossed five innings of one-run ball on one hit, two walks and a hit batter with three strikeouts to earn the decision for Delsea.

Christian Mascaro knocked in the lone run of the game for Toms River South (5-18) on an RBI single during the fo.
