LOVE Island fans have been left raging as ITV crashed just minutes into the new series. Maya Jama is back as a brand new batch of islanders jet off to Majorca for the summer. But as viewers were getting stuck into their Love Island fix ITVX suddenly crashed.
The platform is ITV's catch-up service and also used by millions of viewers to watch programmes live online. Fans have been left seething as they took to social media to slam the broadcaster. Writing on social media, one said: "Not ITVX trying to play with me.
" A second wrote: "Not used @ITVX since the last #loveisland series and there’s a reason - it is the biggest pile of s*** ever created, how can your app not be working on the night new @LoveIsland launches." "ITVX not working, classic, must be the start of a new season of #LoveIsland," said a third. Maya appeared on screen during the opening sequence of the new series as the islanders were officially introduced on screen.
It saw the Love Island logo light up the UK sky as each islander responded to the Bat-Signal style callout to jet off to the TV villa. Love Island's executive producer Mike Spencer told us he is hoping the new recruits will go all the way — just like couples did in the villa’s early days. The show’s 11th series will have extra beds as well as more opportunities to sneak off for sex — and the show boss reckons he will be performing a public service if there are more steamy romps than there have been in recent years.
