Reggae singer Sophia Brown believes that it is of vital importance to choose one's words carefully when speaking to others, no matter what the occasion might be. "Whether I am at home, or out, I am always careful about the way I speak. Words are very powerful, and the things you say to another person could either uplift them or harm them.
A lot of people are struggling with various mental issues. Sometimes it's not obvious, but if you say the wrong thing to someone, it could trigger them," said the artiste. Brown recently teamed up with Turbulence to record a thought-provoking new single titled Look .
"This song is a message for all the people out there who are suffering from low self-esteem and similar issues. We are living in a world where a lot of people do not feel loved or appreciated. However, people need to understand that no matter what's going on in their lives, self-love is the greatest love.
As long you love yourself, you don't need validation from anyone else," she said. Brown, who is also a philanthropist, said that she was inspired to write the song while visiting New York last year. "After I recorded it, I saw Turbulence's performance at Sting and I was extremely impressed.
So, I contacted him and asked him to do a feature. As soon as he listened to the song, he agreed to do it. I am very happy to have him on the track because he embraces the message I am sending to the world with this song," said Brown.
Look was co-written by Brown, Akeem Williams and Turbulen.
