Friday, May 31, 2024 Slovenia excels in safety and sustainability, ranking 42nd in the global Tourism & Travel Index. Slovenia secured the 42nd position among 119 nations in the World Economic Forum’s expansive Tourism & Travel Development Index. Notably, Slovenia achieved the highest rank in branding across the 102 assessed indicators.
The country also excels in environmental sustainability, achieving second place, and ranks as the 10th safest country, with no reports of terrorism or organized crime. Delving deeper, Slovenia shows its strongest performance in the Tourism & Travel Policy and Enabling Conditions category, climbing to 8th from a previous 17th. This category includes critical areas such as Openness to Tourism & Travel (12th), Prioritization of Tourism & Travel (14th), and Price Competitiveness (83rd).
On this occasion, Minister of the Economy, Tourism, and Sport Matjaž Han remarked: “Slovenian tourism has rebounded remarkably quickly in the years following the pandemic, which is the most important indicator for us. Nevertheless, such surveys are crucial for assessing our work and planning for the future. I am pleased that we have excelled both in branding Slovenia as a tourist destination and in environmental sustainability.
With the highest rankings globally, we have shown that we are consistently pursuing our vision of ‘a green boutique, with a smaller footprint and more value for all.’ We can also be proud of the Slovenian Tourist Board, whose effor.
