SITA, a prominent global provider of air transport technology, has secured a five-year contract extension with Heathrow Airport to bolster its expansive and evolving network infrastructure. This agreement ensures SITA will deliver a comprehensive suite of network, telecommunications, and connectivity services, alongside pioneering new solutions for businesses operating within Heathrow.
Since 2011, SITA has cultivated a robust partnership with Heathrow, fortifying the airport’s infrastructure as it rose to become Europe’s busiest, serving nearly 80 million passengers in 2023. Under the renewed agreement, SITA will further enhance Heathrow’s digital framework, managing its extensive network as the airport continues to grow and upgrade its IT systems. This includes overseeing thousands of network access switches, wireless access points, and numerous analogue and internet phone lines.
Heathrow will thus continue to benefit from SITA’s in-depth knowledge and expertise in managing complex airport environments.
