Sir Elton John has led a line-up of celebrities who have announced their support Labour at the general election. The singer and his husband David Furnish joined actors Kit Harington and James Norton, singer Beverley Knight and businesswoman Deborah Meaden in bringing some stardust to a Labour supporters’ meeting held in the final days before next week’s poll. Their endorsements of Sir Keir Starmer’s party, sent as video messages, triggered loud applause at the Westminster venue.
