Making iced coffee at home just got easier. If you've ever tried to make an iced coffee at home, you probably know it can be a bit of a faff. After brewing your coffee, you have to find a way to cool it down, because if you stick it in your glass straight away, you'll melt your ice cubes immediately – leaving you with lukewarm coffee at best.

But it turns out there's an easier way to put the ice back into iced coffee without changing anything about the way you make the refreshing drink. All you need, according to one social media user, is a spoon. Woman branded 'hero' for DIY iced coffee hack - all you need is a plastic bottle TikTok user Hanna Watkins shared a video on her @hannwat account in which she showed off the impressive hack.

All she did was put a metal spoon in her glass alongside her ice cubes, and when she poured the coffee in, the spoon absorbed the heat and kept the ice from melting. She wrote alongside her clip: "If you put a metal spoon in the middle of your ice and pour your coffee in, the spoon will absorb all the heat and your ice won't melt." Once you've poured your coffee over the ice, you can then use the spoon to give it a quick mix before taking it out, leaving you with perfectly cold iced coffee.

You can then top up the glass with milk if you like an iced latte, or leave it black for a delicious cold brew. Commenters on the video were blown away by the hack, with some saying they felt like they should "leave a tip" for Hanna to thank her for her ser.
