Spanning from May to June, this month-long competition has significantly heightened interest in Zhejiang’s thriving marine economy and island tourism. Hosted on May 18th, the Ocean Games kicked off with a spectacular opening ceremony themed “Sailing to the Sea.
” This event seamlessly integrated sports, tourism, and island leisure, offering participants not just the thrill of marine sports, but also an immersive experience into local marine culture. Featuring 15 diverse events across beaches, island circuits, and the open sea, competitions included cycling, trail walking, beach volleyball, soccer, tug of war, frisbee, sailing, sea fishing, surfing, paddle boarding, and open water swimming.
