Living remotely is one thing but to attend school in a secluded location is a reality that many students up in the highlands of Namosi face. Last month the Education Minister, Aseri Radrodro visited four schools in Namosi and acknowledged the students’ resilient nature in overcoming daily challenges to get an education. He also took time to acknowledge the teachers for their commitment and dedication in serving at such remote locations to educate and inspire students there.
The schools that were visited by the Education Minister included Wainimakutu Primary School, Wainimakutu Secondary School, Naqarawai SDA Primary School, Navunikabi Catholic School and Namosi Secondary School. During his visit, Mr Radrodro said that the objective of his visit was to inspire and motivate students to have a purposeful education and to work hard towards their career goals. He reiterated that teaching was a noble profession, and teachers needed the support and encouragement to boost their morale and provide the best for their students.
According to the Ministry of Education, strategies to improve school infrastructure and the utilisation of the free education grant were topics discussed during the Minister’s visit. Before leaving, Mr Radrodro wished the students and teachers all the very best in this school term..
