Savannah Guthrie got a sweet surprise when her 7-year-old son, Charley, stopped by the TODAY set to spend a little time with her. Savannah and TODAY posted of Charley’s visit June 13 . The video shows Savannah and co-hosts Hoda Kotb and Craig Melvin looking stunned when they spot Charley running to the news desk to give his mom a hug.
“Going from morning news mode to mom mode,” Savannah wrote over the video. Charley also joined the hosts outside on the Plaza, where his mom explains to viewers that he's got his morning off because he's on summer break from school. The video later shows Charley back inside Studio 1A, where he tosses a toy with Craig, who’s sitting on the sofa with the rest of the show’s hosts.
The Savannah shared captured special mother-son highlights from Charley’s visit, including several shots of the duo chatting together on the sofa. In another shot, Charley shows his toy to his mom. “Made my day,” Savannah captioned the collection, adding a yellow heart emoji.
Viewers enjoyed seeing Charley hanging out with Savannah and her colleagues on the TODAY set. “So so sweet!!!! Love that your son came to support mom,” one commented next to Savannah’s video. “Love this.
It’s special when you get to visit where Mom or Dad works!” added another. Savannah shares Charley and a 9-year-old daughter, Vale, with her husband, Michael Feldman. Charley’s cute visit comes just three weeks after while she was on the air.
